Bradford magician Dynamo will be awarded an honorary degree by Bradford University during a graduation ceremony tomorrow.

The Magician Impossible star, 31, who grew up as Steven Frayne on Bradford's Delph Hill estate, will be made a Doctor of the University for his committment to his home city, improving opportunities for young people and his long-standing charity work.

The Bishop of Bradford, the Right Reverend Nick Baines, will also be awarded an honorary degree for his contribution to the University and the city, while Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, will be made a Doctor of Education for improving access to education in his home country over the last five years.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Brian Cantor, said: “The University of Bradford is honoured to have such distinguished guests at this year’s award ceremonies.

“These eminent individuals are a credit to society and their respective professions. I hope their presence inspires our students to accomplish great things and to be driven in their future careers after they have graduated from the University.”
