Rain fails to halt Odsal Stadium stunt show daredevils
Strong winds and torrential rain failed to put a dampener on a stunt and fireworks spectacular at Odsal stadium on Saturday.
All events went ahead as planned - including drift cars and monster trucks - apart from the Bull Factor singing contest.
Bulls’ general manager Ryan Whitcut said the contest was pulled because of safety concerns regarding the weather and equipment such as live amps.
But he added: “It was a fantastic event, but just a shame about the weather. It played a part, however we had a large crowd turn up that braved the weather. There were 9,500 there and to be honest, with the weather as it was, I was expecting fewer.
“There was torrential rain, the wind was blowing and it was freezing cold. But everyone that turned up got involved and made a lot of noise.”
Mr Whitcut praised the enthusiasm of the crowd as he continued: “A lot of the credit has to go to the people that turned out, both young and old, despite the weather. They made the event what it was. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who came along.”
