Saltaire Strider Simon Buckden aiming for 100 marathons
8:00am Wednesday 23rd October 2013 in News
A runner has taken to the road to continue his aim of running 100 marathons.
Saltaire Strider Simon Buckden took a break from his challenge to run 100 marathons in as many weeks in January, when cancer treatment forced him to stop after run 51.
Instead, the 41-year-old focussed on setting up Positive Action For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with his fiancé, Louisa Rodriguez. The organisation campaigns for, educates about and supports all forms of PTSD.
Simon (pictured) returned to marathon running on Sunday in York, with Louisa, to raise awareness of PTSD and fundraise for the new organisation.
