Lanterns light the way for Lister Park parade
Dozens of lanterns led by a giant snake and soaring phoenix lit up the skies as they wound their way through Lister Park, Bradford, for a pretty, if not soggy, night-time parade.
Saturday night’s showcase was the result of months of hard work by schools and community organisations who made pieces for Lister’s Lantern Parade.
Hundreds of children and their families carried lanterns through the park for the 30-minute parade organised by a team of community workers, artists and volunteers with funding from Near Neighbours and 2:28 Rain poured from the start to finish, but spirits were kept high with carnival music, skeleton stilt-walkers and fire jugglers.
