Bradford crowned curry capital for third year in a row
Bradford has retained its title as Curry Capital of Britain for the third year in a row.
The city narrowly beat competition from second placed Glasgow and third placed Wolverhampton in the annual competition, scoring 83.6 points out of a possible 100.
As well as holding several fundraising activities, including the world's first ever Poppadomathon, Bradford worked with Seabrook to create a Chicken Karahi flavoured crisp in conjunction with restaurant team member Akbar's.
Peter Grove, event organiser, said: “This year’s competition was tougher than ever, with 22 cities bidding to be crowned Curry Capital of Britain, and we’re delighted to see Bradford chosen by the public.
“The Curry Capital of Britain awards encourage recognition of the importance of the curry sector in Britain and Bradford’s restaurants are a fantastic advocate for the cause.”
The competition, which is in its 11th year, is sponsored by website hungryhouse.co.uk.
