Bradford children learn about transport
1:00pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
Children in Bradford have been learning about the world of public transport in a Metro scheme.
Metro and Bradford YMCA have joined forces to offer Year Six pupils its Junior Safemark programme, designed to help them before their move to secondary school. The sessions are held at the new ‘Metroville’ in the state-of-the-art Culture Fusion youth facility.
A report to the Bradford Passenger Consultative Committee, which meets next week, said: “YMCA student volunteers deliver the training sessions on Metro’s behalf at Culture Fusion, allowing a significant increase in the number of Junior Safemark workshops that may be offered to schools.”
In Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield, Metro run a two-week tour of school visits.
