More than 1,000 runners are expected to pound the streets of Bradford later this month for the 2013 Bradford City Runs.
Participants can tackle either a 5K, 10K or half-marathon distance on closed city centre roads, starting from City Park.
This year’s event – on Sunday, October 27 – is being organised by Bradford Council in partnership with the Bradford Athletics Network.
The Council has now announced the road closures that will be in place on the day.
They are: Thornton Road from City Park to its junction with Listerhills Road; Smith Street between Longside Lane and Listerhills Road; Listerhills Road between Thornton Road and Smith Street; Longside Lane; Shearbridge Road; Great Horton Road between Shearbridge Road and Morley Street; Laisteridge Lane; Easby Road between Laisteridge Lane and Chester Street; Richmond Road; Tumbling Hill Street; Cottam Avenue; Cottam Terrace; Woodhead Road between Cottam Terrace and Shearbridge Road.
Andy Ross, the Council’s sport events officer, said: “The closures stand legally from 8am to 2pm but we are unlikely to close all of the roads for all that time.”
