Defective lane drain is set to be tackled in Keighley

A defective drain causing water to pour out of a hole in the road is to be tackled.
Bradford Council plans to replace a 70-metre stretch of drain on Oldfield Lane, Oldfield, Keighley, after residents complained of a number of problems.
As well as the hole in the road, the drain is also causing gullies to overflow outside a school and eroding nearby gutters.
The news of the repair work was welcomed by Councillor Glen Miller (Con, Worth Valley).
He said: “My ward colleagues and I have been constantly liaising with highways officers and after some lengthy investigations they have now ascertained that the drain has a number of defects, which is best resolved by the complete replacement rather than repair. This is a sizeable piece of work that offers a more comprehensive response which should see the problems alleviated.”
