Paul Hone had been due set to stand trial yesterday for aggravated burglary but his plea to the less serious offence was accepted.
Hone, of Arkwright Street, Tyersal, was originally charged with stealing laptops, games and a TV from the old pub while having a hammer, samurai sword, saw, wheelbrace and screwdriver with him.
He will be sentenced in about three weeks and was warned by Recorder Richard Gioserano it was a very serious offence.
