Bradford’s Crossley Hall Primary School hosted a gardening activity morning for 25 children new to the English language.
The event was organised as part of the Exceed partnership, a link between seven schools, five of which were in attendance – Crossley Hall, Horton Grange, Lidget Green, Princeville and St Oswald’s C of E Primary Academy.
Sandra Stuart, of the New to English support team at Crossley Hall, said the key stage one children, originally from countries such as Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic, had an enjoyable morning on the school allotment.
“All the children had a lovely time, and keeping them active like this is a great way of experiential learning,” she said. “It also allows them to make friends across schools and mix with children from similar backgrounds.”
