Council set to resolve drainage problems at Oakworth
10:00am Wednesday 9th October 2013 in News
An end is in sight to long-standing drainage problems in Oldfield Lane, near Oakworth.
Worth Valley ward councillors Glen Miller and Erica Olsen said they had received assurances that the Council is committed to resolving the problem.
Coun Miller said he and his colleagues had been liaising with highways officers in a bid to see the drains rectified.
He said: “After lengthy investigations they have now ascertained that the drain along Oldfield Lane has a number of defects, which is best resolved by the complete replacement rather than the repair of a 70-metre stretch of drain.
“This is a sizeable piece of work that offers a more comprehensive response, which should see the problems alleviated.
“The Council has committed to doing it in the next couple of months.”
