Mo-tivation gets Baildon barbers recognition from charity

A Baildon barbershop is a cut above after being included in a list of the ten official-rated Movember shops.
During November men are encouraged to grow a moustache to support men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
Gents Quarter, in Westgate, supports the annual charity drive offering free mo trims and is the only outlet in Yorkshire to be officially recognised by its organisers.
The barbershop, which won Movember Barber of the Year 2012, was approached by the organisation to be included in the list acknowledging their support and expertise.
Claire Chambers, who runs the business with her partner Olly Giffen, said: “We are really proud to be a Movember rated barbershop. It’s great for us, Baildon and Bradford, and Yorkshire in fact. We’re not even been here two years and it’s just been fantastic - it’s quite a proud moment really to have something like this.”
Last year the shop raised more than £2,000 for the charity and hopes to double that this year. It is organising a Movember team, children’s disco and ladies’ night and an informal talk with a GP for men wanting to know more about men’s cancer.
