The new NHS organisations responsible for buying and designing healthcare services for people in Bradford have been shortlisted for a national award.
Bradford City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Bradford Districts CCG have jointly made it to the finals of the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards for the Clinical Commissioning Group of the Year award.
They will have to wait until an awards ceremony on November 19 to find out if they have beaten five other CCGs shortlisted.
The Bradford CCGs were chosen for their drive, innovation and commitment to work with patients, partners and the public to deliver excellent local healthcare for local communities.
Dr Akram Khan, clinical chairman of Bradford City CCG, said: “I’m delighted that our work is starting to have a positive impact on local patients; we have some big challenges ahead of us but it’s really rewarding to be shortlisted for this award in our first year.”
The clinical chairman of the Bradford CCGs, Dr Andy Withers, added: “This is great news and a real accolade.”
