Bradford City player attends homeless charity's film premiere
8:00am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
Bradford City Player Andrew Davies joined young people who have been homeless at a charity's big screen launch of a new film marking the work of charity Bradford Nightstop.
More than 100 people turned up at Pictureville on Thursday to watch the 30-minute film, Opening Doors, which will be turned into an information resource for schools and for people interested in becoming volunteer hosts.
For the past 20 years the charity has been providing emergency accommodation to homeless young people in the city, by placing them in the homes of volunteer hosts on a one-night-at-a-time basis.
The film featured interviews with volunteers who are at the heart of Bradford Nightstop and with young people who found themselves on the streets.
The screening was followed by a reception at the Hilton Bradford Hotel, as the film had been funded through Hilton in the Community. Opening Doors is a longer edit of four short films that will soon be available to view on the Bradford Nightstop website atbradfordnightstop.org.uk.
