Police fund helps kit out Thornton footballers
10:00am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
Money seized from criminals has been used to help with the start-up costs for a new junior football team in Thornton, Bradford.
Thornton United Juniors was set up by residents earlier this year for children aged six to 18 and officers from the North Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team arranged a donation of £800 through the Proceeds of Crime Act to assist with the purchasing of kit and other equipment.
Thornton Neighbourhood Sergeant Alex Artis said: “This football club is a great asset for those living in the Thornton area. We are pleased that we have been able to give money that has been seized from criminals to such a valuable community project.”
