Yorkshire Building Society volunteers help out at RSPCA in Bradford
8:00am Monday 7th October 2013 in News
Volunteers at one of Bradford’s largest employers have been giving their spare time to help out at an animal charity.
Thirteen staff at the Yorkshire Building Society spent a day painting the avery, gardening, cleaning and socialising with the animals at Bradford’s RSPCA branch.
It is the fourth volunteering challenge the staff have undertaken at the Mount Street branch, devoting 336 hours to the charity.
Branch manager Terry Singh said the volunteers have enabled the charity to save money it would have needed to maintain the centre and use it on the animals’ welfare instead.
“Thank you again Yorkshire Building Society staff for your commitment and dedication on all the action days this year,” said Mr Singh.
He added his thanks for their donations of pet food and money they collected.
Joanne Whitham, leader of the society’s volunteers, said: “It was a great opportunity for the society to be able to help a fantastic charity that we all believe strongly in supporting.”
