A local Marie Curie fundraising group has raised £8,000 in just its first year.
In September the Baildon Fundraising Group celebrated its first birthday and its efforts have included donning daffodil hats for the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal, to organising Blooming Great Tea Parties.
The group was started by Leanne Wachnuik when she lost her mother to cancer in 2012.
She said: “The Marie Curie Bradford Hospice is one of the most amazing establishments I have ever had the pleasure of being involved with. My mum spent three months at the hospice and the nurses did the most amazing job.”
The group are looking for new members. For details, call Rebecca Ross on (01274) 337036 or e-mail email@example.com.
