A couple who own a Bradford city centre business are thanking customers for making their charity event a resounding success.
Jason and Jennifer Simpson, who both lost grandparents to cancer, raised £188 for Macmillan Cancer Support when they staged a fundraiser as part of the charity’s World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
The couple, who live in Barkerend, donated all funds raised from the sale of coffee, cakes and pastries on Friday at their Love at First Bite cake, sandwich and coffee shop at 11 Sunbridge Road.
Mr Simpson, 35, originally from Tyersal, lost his granddad, Cyril Simpson, when he was in his 80s.
Mrs Simpson, 28, originally from Cleckheaton, said her grandma, Audrey Priestley, died of the disease when aged in her 70s.
Mrs Simpson said: “My grandma and Jason’s granddad were taken from us by this dreadful disease and we wanted to do everything we could to help other families not have to go through what we went through. Our coffee morning was in memory of them.”
