£14.5m boost for transport across West Yorkshire
8:00am Tuesday 1st October 2013 in News
More than £14.5m of Local Transport Plan funding has been approved for transport schemes by the West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority Executive Board yesterday.
Councillors agreed the expenditure to progress the development of electric vehicle charging points across Bradford and neighbouring districts, the construction of the new Leeds Station Southern Entrance, work to make Metro’s yellow school bus fleet greener and a package of rail enhancements.
Councillors have approved the £130,000 of funding earmarked for the scheme which, by providing a suitable network of rapid charge points across the county, will give more potential customers the confidence to purchase an electric vehicle.
