Keighley Labour activists focus on energy bills
2:54pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
Keighley Labour activists took to the town’s streets at the weekend to give people an idea what they could save under the party’s planned energy price freeze.
Leader Ed Milliband pledged at the party’s conference last week that energy bills would be frozen for two years if Labour gained power in 2015.
Local members set up a stall near Keighley Market in Low Street and used an online calculator to evaluate what people stood to gain.
Spokesman Henri Murison said: “When I heard Ed's speech in Brighton, I knew this policy would make a real difference to people here in Keighley.
“Using the calculator, we saw many families which could save at least £178 a year.”
