Keighley storytelling project set for go-ahead
8:40am Tuesday 1st October 2013 in News
Keighley people are to be invited to tell tales in a tepee.
A new community project organised by Holy Family School will see a tent set up in the town centre.
People will be able to sit inside and tell stories about their past while watched by other people including children.
The project is the latest to be funded from the Community First fund for Keighley Central ward.
Community development worker Jo Horrox, who oversees the fund, described the project as “talking books”.
Community First is funded by the government but committees of local people decide which groups should receive money in each area.
Groups in the Keighley Central area, which includes Highfield, Lawkholme, Beechliffe, Utley, Showfield and Knowle Park, can apply for money until November 30.
