Brave Joanne makes a bald move to raise cash for cancer charity

Friends and neighbours rallied round for a day of hair-raising fun that raised at least £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event, part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, took place at Rockwell Community Centre, Thorpe Edge.
Brave Joanne Shoesmith had her head shaved to raise funds, and other events included a raffle, cake sale and sponsored bike ride.
“We have raised about £600, and expect to get more donations later on,” said outreach worker Annice Brearley, who shaved Joanne’s hair off.
“It’s been a fantastic day, really well supported.”
