Crowds gather to enjoy Positive Bradford Day
1:31pm Saturday 28th September 2013 in News
Highlighting all that is great about the city, the day features performances from the varied groups which are based in Bradford.
More than 20,000 people are expected to visit the park over the course of the day, and when events started with a parade at 11am there were already plenty of people eager to make the most of the late September sun.
Following the parade members of Bradford Jiu Jitsu club put on an impressive display of martial arts and self defence techniques. Punjabi Roots, a group that teaches young people both Asian and Western music and dance skills, gave a taster of their courses, and organisations as diverse as Incommunities housing provider, the National Media Museum and the city’s numerous churches have stalls to explain what they do.
Throughout the day there will be performances on the main stage outside City Hall as well as pop-up theatre events.
The day runs until 6pm.
