MP David Ward joins leaders to discusss welfare reforms
9:00am Saturday 28th September 2013 in News
Bradford East MP David Ward has supported an event for faith community leaders and workers to discuss welfare reform.
The event was organised by Welfare Reform Impact Bradford and Mr Ward said: “Some of the changes to welfare have meant that people have struggled, which is why I have always challenged those aspects of welfare reform. I am delighted that WRIB has organised this event as it provides an excellent opportunity to discuss what can be done to support those who are struggling.”
Co-ordinator of WRIB, and retired Anglican priest, the Reverend Canon Gordon Dey, said: “The purpose of this event is to discuss what we can do support people in Bradford.
“There are many myths about those on welfare and we hope that this event will help to challenge some of these myths and unravel them.”
