A newly-crowned British champion boxer celebrated his title win by visiting the Cleckheaton curry house that sponsors him.
Kid Galahad claimed the British super bantamweight title with a tenth-round stoppage of James Dickens in Rotherham earlier this month.
And he delighted customers at Aakash Indian restaurant in Bradford Road, by posing for pictures and signing autographs. He brought the British title with him and also the WBC International super bantamweight belt that he holds.
Kid was was joined at the restaurant by Prince Naseem Hamed’s former mentor Brendan Ingle and his son Dominic, as well as junior boxers from the Ingle gym where he trains.
Azhar Mahmood, manager of Aakash, said: “It went really well. They had a great meal and the customers got to have photos with him. He also signed hats and T-shirts.”
Mr Mahmood said the restaurant had been sponsoring Kid, who is from Sheffield, for the last two years, adding: “Everyone is behind him.”
