Oasis Academy Lister Park is launched at ribbon-cutting ceremony
7:00am Monday 23rd September 2013 in News
The cutting of a ribbon, student speeches and live music helped a Bradford school celebrate the start of its new life as an academy.
Oasis Academy Lister Park – previously known as Challenge College – opened its doors to parents and other members of the community to give them a flavour of what life will be like in the new academy.
Principal Ian Richardson said: “As a school, we’ve always had our eyes firmly fixed on the future and this new identity provides a great opportunity to show our community how fresh and vibrant our vision is.
“We are really excited to be partnering with Oasis.
“Like us, they are totally committed to academic excellence and to ensuring that an academy is an active part of its community.”
Oasis is one of the largest providers of academies in the UK.
Its founder Steve Chalke cut the ribbon at Lister Park.
He said: “I know I speak on behalf of everyone at Oasis when I say how excited we are to welcome Oasis Academy Lister Park to the family.
“It is impossible to spend time with the staff of the academy without being inspired by their tremendous vision not just for the school, but for the entire local community.
“We look forward to developing this partnership and growing and learning together in the future.”
