Parents pay tribute to 'lovely' teenage daughter killed in Thornton crash
The parents of a 19-year-old woman killed in a late-night car crash have paid tribute to their daughter, saying she “embraced life to its fullest.”
She had recently been given the all clear following treatment for cancer.
Her parents have now released their first statement since the crash, saying they have been left “devastated” by Jade’s death.
Jade was a passenger in the back seat of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, driven by Mr Ruthven.
Issue by police earlier today, the statement says: "Jade was a happy go-lucky person and had a lovely outgoing personality that meant she embraced life to its fullest.
"She had recently been given the all-clear following a cancer diagnosis and had so much life left to live.
"We are devastated by her death and that she has been taken from us in such tragic circumstances."
Police are still appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
