Cheerleaders, a steel band and Punjabi dancers helped an organisation celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Manningham Housing Association hosted a huge mela for tenants, staff and contractors at Valley Parade.

Other attractions included a bouncy castle, hypnotist, comedian and mechanical rodeo bull.

Organisation development and performance manager Sabir Hussain said: “We’re still recovering!

“Everybody really enjoyed it and staff have come in today joking that they have backache.”

He said they had been expecting 500 visitors but got more than 600.

He said: “Mostly it was customers and their children. We had some tremendous feedback.”

He said for one elderly couple, it had been the first time they had both been out of their house together this year.
