Awards to celebrate workers' tenacity
10:00am Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
An awards ceremony is due to take place tonight to celebrate the achievements of people who have overcome barriers to employment and training.
The Bradford in Mind Awards evening is being hosted by Remploy and Bradford Council at Forsters Restaurant in Centenary Square.
Remploy offers a range of recruitment and development services for disabled and disadvantaged people from more than 60 branches and offices across Britain, including a branch in Bank Street, Bradford.
Jobseekers with physical, mental and sensory disabilities receive one-to-one support, including interview training.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s executive member for employment, skills and culture, said: “These awards celebrate inspiring people who have overcome a range of barriers to find a job or taken steps to be in a better position to secure work.
“They also credit those individuals and organisations who have gone out of their way to support people and boost their confidence on their journey to employment.”
