Ideas discussed for more global trade
8:52pm Monday 16th September 2013 in News
Ideas for encouraging growth and working together to benefit from global trade were just some of the concepts discussed at a roundtable meeting of the Yorkshire Asian Business Association tonight.
The meeting at Aagrah Mid-point in Thornbury invited Mohammed Amir Thahim, who is the High Commission of Pakistan’s commercial secretary for economic and trade division, to be guest speaker.
Ways of establishing new trade links, locating joint venture partners as well as creating a crossing route for business between YABA members and Pakistan were debated as was a plan to host a cultural arts function in November this year in Bradford.
One of YABA’s executive directors Amjad Pervez said: “Europe is on its knees in terms of economic growth but there are greater opportunities to be had in India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Turkey, there is huge potential. We can use the phenomena of cultural festivals and celebrations to get to know what makes people there tick and how we can use that information to win more orders for our products.”
