New group to raise cash for Bradford hospice
8:00am Tuesday 17th September 2013 in News
A new fundraising group is starting in Bradford’s BD4 postcode area to raise funds for the city’s Marie Curie Hospice which helps care for about 1,100 patients every year.
People living in the area are being invited to an informal meeting at 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 23, at South Bierley Golf Club to find out more. Bierley resident Trevor Haigh (pictured) has already begun raising cash for the charity with a coast-to-coast bike ride in May from Southport to Hornsea. He rode 203 miles of the Trans Pennine Trail and raised £800 through sponsorship. The Leeds Road hospice, which provides expert end of life care and support to terminally ill patients and their families completely free of charge, wants as many people from the local area as possible to join him in the fundraising group.
