Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning flat in Bingley town centre.
Crews from Shipley Keighley, Idle and Bradford were called to the blaze above Ladbrokes bookmakers in Chapel Lane at 12.02pm today.
They have treated the woman for smoke inhalation and police have cordoned off the street and evacuated the building.
Onlooker Christine Shears said: “I smelled smoke and thought it was the building I was in at first. It looks quite bad because they’re still here and there’s quite a lot of fire engines now.
“I’m not sure if there’s somebody on the ground, because the fire service are on the floor.”
She said the drama had drawn a large crowd of onlookers.
