Bradford hospitals back clinical research trials initiative
12:00pm Monday 9th September 2013 in News
Bradford patients are being encouraged to ask their doctors about taking part in clinical trials under a new health campaign.
‘OK to ask’, a new National Institute for Health Research initiative, has received backing from the district’s teaching hospitals.
It is hoped the campaign will gather evidence to help the NHS improve treatments options.
It is thought that patients can be unaware that studies relating to their condition are taking place at local hospitals.
Bradford’s Institute for Health Research want to ensure that any patients who could potentially benefit do not miss out on the opportunity.
Anne Forster, clinical lead for the Yorkshire Stroke Research Network, said: “Bradford Teaching Hospitals are keen to support this initiative in order to enhance patient care through high quality research.”
