Diamond day for Pat and Len Couzens
D-Day veteran Len Couzens and his wife Pat have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
The couple, who have four sons and live in the Bolton area of Bradford, first met working at the telephone exchange in Manchester Road and shared an interest in amateur dramatics.
The pair were married at St Clare’s RC Church, Fagley, in 1953. Mr Couzens went on to work for the Post Office until he retired in 1989, while his wife became press and publicity officer for Bradford College until 1996.
Mr Couzens, 89, still works out regularly at the gym and paints water colours as a member of Shipley Art Group, and Mrs Couzens, 80, is secretary of St Clare’s Community Centre.
They have seven grandchildren.
