Asylum-bid wait goes on
Dua Ali will return to school while her mother Ayesha waits to learn the outcome to their latest application for asylum.
The pair, who fear returning to Pakistan because they converted from Islam to Christianity, have already lost one asylum bid.
They were ordered to leave the UK by August 8.
The pair’s friend Kathryn Foster, who also lives in Ingrow, said Ayesha had heard nothing from the Home Office since before the deadline passed.
She said: “We’re at an impasse. Solicitors are dealing with the Home Office so hopefully this application will be better than the old one.”
