Bingley singer Daniel Gregory hits London stage

A young singer of Bingley will be sharing a London stage with a top New York composer later this month after winning an online competition.
Daniel Gregory, 21, attends the Performance Preparation Academy in Guildford, and has found out he will be performing at St James’ Theatre on September 15.
He was selected over hundreds of other singers who took part in a competition that would see the winner performing Music Theatre Composer Jonathan Gealt’s “Quiet” at an evening celebrating the New York artist.
Mr Gealt is unveiling his new album Hear For You with a show in the theatre with some of the country’s top performers singing his compositions.
For the Song “Quiet” he launched an online competition where amateur performers could upload videos of them singing the track to Youtube, with the winner being chosen by the composer himself.
Daniel beat the tough competition, and is now getting ready for the gig of his life.
Now in his third year at the performing arts school, he began his performing career at Stage 84 in Bingley, run by Valerie Jackson.
His proud dad Joseph said: “He started when he was eight, and a lot of people he has come through with have been on TV or in stage shows.
“I’m sure he’ll end up in a big show soon. It is really big to get a singing part in a show like this in London.”
