Open house to view city's heritage

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Khadim Hussain, will be throwing open the doors of City Hall for a day celebrating the district’s heritage.
People will be able to view the Civic Silver, visit the Lord Mayor’s Rooms, the Council Chamber and the Banqueting Hall on Saturday, September 14.
There will also be chance to watch period-costume re-enactments of cases from 1913 and 1914 in the original City Hall court rooms.
Children can take part in a picture trail and quiz as well as have the opportunity to meet Brad Ford bear, and outside City Hall there will be a display of vintage buses.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm and is being held as part of Heritage Open Day. The Alhambra Theatre and St George’s Hall will also be having open days.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Khadim Hussain, said: "Our city has a rich theatrical and film history and this is a fantastic opportunity to see the heritage available on our doorstep.”
