15,000 enjoy Primal Scream at Bingley Music Live
Almost 15,000 people enjoyed the eclectic mix of bands playing at Bingley Music Live’s second day.
Held at Myrtle Park, the Saturday line-up meant the popular festival was a near sell-out.
Headliners Primal Scream played a set packed with hits from their long career, and an incredible light show backed up their headline slot which must go down as one of the most popular in the festival’s history.
Hitting the main stage before them were re-formed rockers The Fratellis, who had the crowd partying with their jaunty feel good tunes. Their mega hit Chelsea Dagger was probably the best received song of the weekend so far, and it would have been difficult to find anyone in the crowd not dancing along.
But what Saturday may be most remembered for is for the last performance of Wilco Johnson. The former Dr Feelgood guitarist announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and had confirmed his performance yesterday would be his final one.
Disco pioneers Chic featuring Nile Rogers headline the festival tonight.
