More than 400 people have now signed a petition to try and save Keighley’s under-threat Territorial Army base.
The campaign was started in July by Keighley town councillor Andrea Walker, a Royal British Legion member. It is being backed by Keighley deputy mayor Councillor Lionel Lockley.
The TA base, known as Keighley Drill Hall, has been recommended for closure as part of changes to Britain’s army reserve system. The building is home to C Company of 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Coun Walker said she was encouraged by the response to the petition, which has been made available for people to sign at Wild’s Cafe in Towngate, Keighley bus station and Keighley Civic Centre.
