Volunteers take part in clean-up day at Frizinghall
8:00am Saturday 31st August 2013 in News
A day of graft to tidy-up hot spots shifted 1,174 tonnes of rubbish from streets in Frizinghall.
The event was led by Associated Waste Management in Canal Road, which is working with the community to clean-up the area.
Group marketing manager Mike Robinson said: “The day generated great interaction within the community, with involvement on lots of different levels. We have planned a second day on the back of this which will hopefully take place on September 5.”
Volunteers tackled land around the community centre, the back of Aireville and Granville Road.
Mr Robinson added: “It was great to meet residents and we appreciated all the refreshments that people gave generously.”
