Cricket match set to raise £1,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association
9:00am Wednesday 28th August 2013 in News
A cricket match and family fun day may have raised as much as £1,000 to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The events, hosted by Haworth Cricket Club, were organised by club member Simon Perryman, whose father Kevin died from the disease four years ago.
Simon, who lives in Keighley, was helped by family and club members, particularly sister Della and teammates Damien Rowell and Karl Brown.
The match and entertainment took place last Sunday.
Della, from Haworth, said: “We’ve done an initial count and that has come to £750, but there’s more money still to come in. By the time that’s added on we should hopefully have about £1,000.
“We were overwhelmed by the support we were given and we’d especially like to thank Haworth Cricket Club, which donated proceeds from bar sales.”
