Keighley councillor Jan Smithies has run for election in the past – but now she’s running for charity.
She has signed up for a fun run to support disabled athletes through the Lord Mayor of Bradford’s Appeal.
The 3km and 5km races next month will raise money for Bradford Disability Sports and Leisure (BDSL).
Jan, who represents Keighley West ward on Bradford Council, will run alongside long-time BDSL athlete Stephen Thorne.
Jan said: “I used to do a fair bit of running but I’ve never done a sponsored race.”
The fun run will be at at the Marley sports track on Saturday, September 14.
