Councillor in bid to create Ilkley town manager role
10:00am Monday 26th August 2013 in News
A call for an Ilkley town centre manager is to be debated by Ilkley parish councillors at their next meeting.
Councillor Stephen Butler is seeking the views of fellow members of the council on the idea, and exploring what a manager could do for the town.
An overall manager for the town centre could work with various organisations to co-ordinate a variety of issues affecting the area.
Coun Butler also hopes to be appointed parish council project manager for a scheme to replace Ilkley’s town centre information boards.
Although he has not come up with firm plans for the possible roles and responsibilities of an Ilkley town centre manager, he would like to see similar managers from other towns invited to tell councillors about the work they do.
The full meeting of Ilkley Parish Council will take place at Ilkley Town Hall at 7.30pm on Monday, September 2.
