Bradford firms make business awards shortlist

A national contest to find England’s best Asian-run businesses has unveiled its finalists.
Businessmen and women from Bradford feature heavily in the shortlist for the English Asian Business Awards 2013.
Peckover Street-based shapewear firm Fit Britches, run by Farnaz Khan, has been nominated for New Business of the Year.
Cafe and deli company Lahore is in the running for small business of the year and Suits Me, a mail order company specialising in Asian fashions, is nominated for retail business of the year.
Bradford City Football Club has been nominated for the Community Award and Amjad Pervez of wholesale food supplier Seafresh is in the running for businessman of the year.
Members of the public were asked to nominate people for the awards, and the winners will be revealed at a ceremony in Manchester on September 30.
