Haworth Cricket Club event will support Motor Neurone Disease Association
8:00am Wednesday 21st August 2013 in News
Haworth Cricket Club will host a cricket match and family fun day on Sunday in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The event is being organised by Simon Perryman whose father Kevin died from the disease four years ago. He is being helped by sister Della and team-mates Damien Rowell and Karl Brown.
Della said the charity helped her family when her father was diagnosed with the disease and they wanted to give thanks.
She said: “We want to raise awareness of motor neurone disease. It's not so well-known as some other diseases.”
Della walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks for the association last year and organised a charity ball.
People are invited to call at the cricket ground to watch the match, and there will be a bouncy castle from around 4pm plus other attractions.
