Snug new venue for Keighley beer and gin festival
9:00am Wednesday 21st August 2013 in News
Visitors to a Keighley beer and gin festival next month will have a snug place to have a tipple.
The Exchange Arts Centre, on Russell Street, will launch its new snug bar during its annual festival.
During the event, which takes place from September 13 to 16, the tiny room will play host to 20 gins, while the main room will host 20 beers and live music performances.
Venue owner Jym Harris has created the snug by knocking through a wall between the box office and storeroom.
He said: "It's literally the smallest bar in the town – 20 or 30 people, smaller than the Boltmakers or Cricketers Arms."
After the festival Mr Harris aims to open the snug separately to the main Exchange, so people can call in for a drink even on days when bands are not playing.
The festival will feature performances by Corporate Tramps, Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican, DownReno and Speed Dinosaurs.
