Guiseley School students judged on their cakes
More than 60 students and staff at Guiseley School took part in the ‘Great Guiseley Cake Off’ cake baking competition.
Industry experts Derek Weston, a technical development manager with over 45 years experience in the baking trade and John Wilkinson, head chef for the prestigious Marriot hotel chain had the enviable task of judging all 61 entries before choosing a winner from the various categories which included classics, chocolate, cupcakes and novelty.
Local bakers Haighs offered their support by providing cakes to the winning entries.
All entrants were invited to a tasting session where the winners from each age group and category were announced.
