Cullingworth farm wind turbine plan is rejected
Plans for a 65-metre high wind turbine at a Cullingworth farm have been thrown out by Bradford Council.
Submitted by Robert Thompson, the turbine would have been built at Manor Farm, and neighbours had written to the council fearing that it would have towered over the surrounding landscape.
Planning officers at the council agreed, refusing the application on Wednesday.
Their decision said: “It would introduce a substantial and incongruous man made feature which would adversely affect the character of the landscape.
“The effects of wind turbine developments upon living conditions of neighbours can be significant and, for all intents and purposes, the disturbance is permanent.”
The turbine would have fed energy into the national grid.
