Cattle donation for Manorlands hospice
Manorlands could be forgiven for milking its latest donation.
The Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice has received £2,000, raised through a cattle auction.
The cash will be used mainly to extend a counselling and support programme offered at Manorlands for children who have lost a loved one.
Cattle were donated for sale by the Leo Group, a long-time supporter of the hospice.
The company is at the forefront of the UK’s recycling and renewable energy sectors, but also has strong links with agriculture, rearing more than 400 cattle a year – pedigree and commercial – at farms across the country.
Manorlands has been part of the group’s £125,000 programme of charitable donations in the past year and the company sponsors one of the hospice’s biggest annual fundraisers, the Mascot Gold Cup at Wetherby racecourse.
Hayley Ibbotson, a Sue Ryder regional fundraiser at Manorlands, said: “We'd like to thank everyone at the Leo Group for this fantastic sum."
