Curry club banquet to aid appeal
8:00am Friday 16th August 2013 in News
A curry club hosted by the Lord Mayor of Bradford is preparing to put on a three-course charity banquet next week.
The event will be held in City Hall’s Banqueting Suite City Hall on Wednesday to raise cash for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
Now in its sixth year, the Lord Mayor’s Curry Club meets once a month at restaurants across the district to raise money for the appeal.
This year the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Khadim Hussain, has chosen the charity Bradford Disability Sport and Leisure, which offers year round training, competitions and sports and leisure opportunities for disabled people from across the district.
Coun Hussain said: “Bradford Disability Sport and Leisure is close to my heart as I have a grandson who is autistic and he has shown me that with support from organisations of this nature, disabled people can achieve great things.”
Tickets for the event cost £15 per person. To book, phone (01274) 434965 or e-mail email@example.com.
